While laughing I thought about clothes...

Yep.. I was running through the channels last night on the old TV here... nothing much happening in my head... Saturday, a lot of the folk out there, dresssing up in their best and partying it up...I came to Channel 25, here: "Bravo"; and, here was George Burns, in his ripe old age, standing there with his big cigar in hand, (No Cancer there), puffing between jokes... He thanked the crowd for their applause... then, after yet another puff.... he says: "...These days I get aplause for just standing..." Ha ha ha, we all went, as he fed us the old attitudes towards the aged...Then, he tells us about having to take his clothes off, I forget the joke, but it was about how he looked... how old folk looked with their clothes off, and again we all burst out laughing ... and on and on it went...(Laughing is good--I love it--Ha ha ha...), but then I moved on... and finally turn off the idiot merchant box, with all its commercials.. entertainment for the common folk.

I sit their quiet awhile, thinking ... and I thought... "You know George... thats how it is for most folk, when they take their clothes off even the young... they seem to loose something... I guess that is what fashion is all about covering up what doesn't match up to glamour--The myth of the models, comercialsm so uses--and not just clothes, heh... paints and powders... you name it, I mean what is natural is not for sale, heh... no business in that... Dress up folks--- cover up your nasty naturalness, heh---I mean: look at Nuns and other religious folk... Wow don't they just strut around in the 'magificent robe' thing---I mean look at bishops and popes... they all lose something when they take of their clothes. Kings and Queens...nobility, as it is called: take off their clothes and what have you? I mean, take just the rich... yards and yards of it drape them... to sometimes, like six thousand dollar shower curtains... Whip that away and what have you there, washing the dirt off... Heh...? Oh yuck! Horrible... or take some of them actor folk: "Off with your clothes!" as you stand there taking your emmy... Ha, ha, ha... what a gass.

How much of what we call civilization is dependent on clothes -- the style of clothes... on cosmetics and whatever aids that are used for exaggeration and extreme--- to allure and decieve another. I had stopped laughing and turned to write... Well then I turned to boxing, on channel five...
